About the Recipe

I love lettuce wraps but usually end up wearing more than I get to eat. I decided to deconstruct the recipe so I could enjoy every last bite without looking like an animal. I often throw in a side of naan or flat bread to sop up the sauce. I know I'm mixing my cultures, but they taste great together!

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 16 oz. Ground Chicken

  • 8 oz. water chesnuts, chopped

  • 1 can straw mushrooms, chopped

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 3 Tb Soy Sauce

  • 1 Tb Sesame Oil

  • Green Onion, chopped

  • Lettuce, chopped

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 3 Tb Soy Sauce

  • 2 Tsp Rice Wine Vinegar

  • 1 Tsp Sesame Oil

  • 2 Tb White Sugar

  • 1 Tsp Sriracha

Preparation

Step 1

Add sesame oil and ground chicken.  Cook until the chicken is no longer pink.  Add the water chesnuts, garlic and mushrooms.  Cook for about 2 minutes.  Add the soy sauce and simmer until the chicken has absorbed the sauce.

Step 2

Whisk the water, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, white sugar, and sriracha together.

Step 3

Place chopped lettuce in bowl.  Scoop the chicken mixture on top.  Add green onion and sauce to taste.
